Ambient Informatics

Client: University of california - Los Angeles | Architect: hirsuta | Location: Westwood, ca | Completion: 2016

As a truly collaborative project with UCLA’s City Lab, Hirsuta’s Jason Payne and REMAP’s Jeff Burke, a translucent composite asteroid was engineered and fabricated. The shell was then integrated with urban sensing software and lighting to communicate information, such as adjacent bus schedules.

“Ambient Informatics brings aesthetics, technology and innovative design together to create a new public experience in Westwood Village.” -Dana Cuff
